Pups & Pride at Quicksilver Canine

Join us for a weekend of canine disc fun at our fourth annual Pups & Pride event Saturday and UpDog Competition Sunday! This weekend, we are celebrating the wonderful diversity of our dog sport community. We welcome all who may be interested in attending regardless of your sexual orientation. Pride is the promotion of the self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

Please be aware, the Saturday event eases restrictions on music for freestyle to allow participants an element of free expression. It is possible that you may hear language that may challenge your sensibilities.

*Note: This event will be a fundraiser for the Harriet Hancock Center. All profits will benefit the center.

There will be a food vendor on-site. More details to follow. No lunch break.

Competitions

These competitions are unsanctioned competitions of some popular games from two popular disc-dog venues. Toss-N-Fetch (TNF) will be run by UpDog ThrowNGo L1 rules, Freestyle (FS) will be scored using UpDog Freestyle Performance Round rules, and TimeTrial (TT) will be run by Skyhoundz TimeTrial rules.

  1. Toss-N-Fetch – 2 rounds of Toss-N-Fetch
    1. Big Air (in-air throws only)
      • Big (dogs 16″ at the withers and taller)
      • Lil (dogs under 16″)
    2. Roller Derby (rollers only)
      • Big (dogs 16″ at the withers and taller)
      • Lil (dogs under 16″)
  2. Freestyle – 1 round of Freestyle
    • Novice
    • Intermediate
    • Advanced
  3. Time Trial – 1 round of TimeTrial

Game Order

  1. Toss-N-Fetch Round 1
    • All divisions and sizes.
  2. Time Trial – Single Round, no divisions
  3. Freestyle Performance Round
    • Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced Divisions offered.
    • *Music restrictions have been lifted for this event so use whatever song you’d like.
  4. Toss-N-Fetch Round 2

Each game will be a total points accumulation, per dog/handler team, from the day for awarded placements (TimeTrial not included. Three winners for TimeTrial). There will be three individual winners in each of the divisions for Freestyle (Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced) and three winners for each division and size class of Toss-N-Fetch (Big Air Big, Big Air Lil, Roller Derby Big, and Roller Derby Lil).

First 250 paid runs get in.

Pre-registration will be accepted through May 26. The first 250 paid runs will be accepted. You will receive a confirmation email from Leerie Jenkins confirming your registration and payment.
