Tuesday, 9/11 10:00-1:00 Advanced Blind Cross Applications
This workshop is an advanced offering that will challenge students to sequence using blind crosses in a variety of applications and sequences. Forced blind crosses, back to back blind crosses and collection turn blind crosses will be included. This workshop is limited to students that have attended the Blind Cross Foundation Workshop and/or are regular students of Melanie’s.​ This is also an excellent workshop to audit to see how blind crosses can be applied in a variety of sequences.

Tuesday, 9/11 2:00-5:00 Handling Foundations
This workshop will focus on building a strong handling foundation for the young dog. A variety of games and skill exercises that are easy to setup at home will be covered. The workshop is appropriate for dogs 6 months and older.

Tuesday, 9/11 6:00-9:00 Missing Link
This workshop is suitable for dogs that struggle with trial environments by either needing more focus, motivation and drive or needing to channel the drive that they have. If you find that your dog’s performance at a trial varies widely from what you see in training, this workshop is for you! Come find out which element is your canine partner’s MISSING LINK! This is a fun workshop to audit as you get to see Melanie problem solve a wide variety of challenges and create custom solutions for each dog/handler team, as well as share some of her
games designed to help a dog transition seamlessly from training to trialing.

Wednesday, 9/12 8:00-11:00 Timing is EVERYTHING!
This workshop will focus on WHEN to cue. Melanie will be happy to offer handling suggestions, but feel free to bring your handling system of choice to this workshop. The question is, can you deliver your cues at the right time for your dog and still get where you need to
go next? This workshop is appropriate for dogs sequencing 10-12 obstacles.

Wednesday,9/12 12:00-3:00 Verbals: Say What You Mean & Mean What You Say
This workshop will focus on how to teach directional verbals, as well as the appropriate timing for verbals on course. Tight turn verbals, turns in extension and backside verbals will be addressed. This workshop is appropriate for young dogs looking to teach verbal cues, as well as more experience dogs that would like to add these skills to their toolbox.
