Annette Alfonso returns to Quicksilver Canine with four workshops:

Thursday, June 7

  • Young Dog Foundation: 12:30pm-4pm
This workshop is perfect for young dogs that might not be old enough to train on the actual equipment. It will give you and your dog plenty of exercises to work on to develop the behaviors and criteria you will want for their agility career prior to introducing them to full height obstacles.

Appropriate for dogs age 6 months and up.

  • Simple Drills for Complicated Skills: 5pm-8.30pm
This workshop will focus on the human part of the teams to improve their commitment and timing. We will be running short, but very technical sequences that will require a lot of handling.

These fun set ups are the perfect challenge to push you outside of your comfort zone to help you fine-tune your skills and work on your flow.

This session is for excellent/master level dogs.

Friday, June 8

  • Jumping Skills: 10am-1.30pm
We will set a variety of stations that will each work on a different skill. The goal is for your dog to learn how to control their jumping and improve on their style.

Appropriate for novice, advanced and excellent level dogs.

  • Mental Game Challenges: 2:30pm-6pm
Do you find yourself lost on course or unable to think on your feet when things don’t go as planned? Then it’s time to work on YOU!

This workshop will help you prepare yourself mentally to be the best handler you can be for your dog, to set goals for every run and handle with intent.

Using fun game challenges, we will focus on the handler’s ability to recognize sequence elements that will simplify their decision making. Any handling option can work as long as you make it your own and execute it with confidence. Take the challenge to train your brain.
Appropriate for dogs running jump sequences with 10 or more jumps.

  • Working spots $100 limit 7
  • Unlimited auditing $35
