Pups & Pride at Quicksilver Canine

Join us for a day of canine disc fun at our 2021 Pups & Pride event, celebrating the wonderful diversity of our dog sport community. We welcome all who may be interested in attending regardless of your sexual orientation. Pride is the promotion of the self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.
Please be aware, this event eases restrictions on music for freestyle to allow participants an element of free expression. It is possible that you may hear language that may challenge your sensibilities.
*Note: This event will be a fundraiser for the Guilford Green Foundation in Greensboro, North Carolina. All proceeds will benefit the LGBT center.
Quicksilver Canine Indoor/Outdoor Hybrid Event Protocols
- Open 7/8 garage doors (back door will remain closed) and place ring gates/portable fences across open thresholds.
- Watch, Wait, and Crate outside. Plan and pack for all weather possibilities
- Enter the building to use amenities like rest rooms and bottle filling station
- Total occupancy 10 (ten), including judges, staff, competitors on the field and on deck.
- Masks required for humans.
- Pre-registered AND pre-paid only.
Game Order
- Toss-N-Fetch Round 1
- Big Air Division (In-Air throws only) and Roller Derby Division (Rollers only) offered.
- Freestyle Performance Round 1
- Novice and Advanced Divisions offered.
- *Music restrictions have been lifted for this event so use whatever song you’d like.
- Obstacle Course – Single Round, no divisions
- 3 obstacles. Competitors stand in a throwing area, throwing either through or around the obstacle into a zone in which the dog completes a catch. 7 available points per obstacle (Clear = 4 points, Catch = 1 point, Zone = 2 points; 21 total points)
- Toss-N-Fetch Round 2
- Freestyle Performance Round 2
Each game will be a total points accumulation, per dog/handler team, from the day for awarded placements (Obstacle course not included. Three winners for Obstacle Course). There will be three individual winners in each of the divisions for Freestyle (Novice or Advanced) and three winners for each division of Toss-N-Fetch (Big Air or Roller Derby).
